Solution
EUSKontsultoria chose the TS-877 8-bay NAS for meeting their great storage need, and the TVS-471 NAS at the remote site. They also installed two QHora-301W routers in each site to implement QuWAN (QNAP’s SD-WAN solution) to manage the whole company network using a centralized management cloud platform.
Results
EUSKontsultoria is satisfied that the QNAP solution achieved all their goals at once – data storage, virtualization, and a video surveillance system.
Storage
EUSKontsultoria feel the significant difference of data access speeds after enabling SSD caching. RAID 5 is configured to protect the data from the event of one disk failing. EUSKontsultoria uses Hybrid Backup Sync (QNAP’s backup solution) to copy deduplicated backup data to the remote site NAS and to public clouds as tertiary backup where encrypted and deduplicated copies are stored for greater data safety.
Virtualization
Virtualization Station allows hosting a virtual Windows Server 2016 and is accessible from anywhere by using the Virtualization Station web viewer. With Virtualization Station, they can clone and snapshot the virtual machine to protect the company’s vital information.
Video surveillance
By installing QVR Pro (QNAP’s surveillance software) staff can remotely access six surveillance cameras with the QVR Pro Client mobile app. Thanks to WireGuard® VPN support from QTS 5.0, they can access recordings with a secure and easy connection.
SD-WAN
QuWAN Orchestrator is used to maintain the SD-WAN which controls traffic between the different sites, as well as creating an interconnection with future sites belonging to the company.
Manage devices remotely & easily
Remote access is just a tap away with QNAP’s companion mobile apps. With Qmanager, staff can easily manage QNAP devices, such as updating to the latest firmware, turning on/off virtual machines, and checking backup status. QmailClient allows backing up and quickly accessing corporate emails.
